Hair Discovery Professional is an independent hair salon which has been based in East Barnet Village for the past six years. It is owned by Angelina Hill, a dynamic and creative hairdresser and forward thinking artistic director.
To celebrate their fifth anniversary and the unfailing support of local residents and businesses, Hair Discovery Professional decided to host a Black Tie Charity Dinner and Hair Show at the iconic Alexandra palace on the 1st April 2017. The charity chosen to benefit from the proceeds of the evening was Macmillan cancer support.
The day started early with 30 models arriving at Alexandra palace at 8am to rehearse their choreography and have their hair styles created by Angelina and her team.
By 5pm guests were beginning to gather for a drinks reception in the impressive palm court. After guests took to their tables, Mr Graham Draker from Macmillan addressed the guests with an explanation of the work and support that Macmillan provide. A rousing game of heads and tails then ensued to kick off the fundraising. While the three course dinner was being served entertainment was provided by the wonderful Georgia and the VY band.
The evening was punctuated by truly professional dance performances by the show troupe from Dance Wright in New Barnet, and two GCSE dance students from the Marriotts school in Stevenage.
The main event, the hair show, followed. An amazing, precisely choreographed, catwalk show, showcasing hairstyles and colouring techniques from the fabulously everyday to the truly extraordinary avant garde all created by the talented Hair Discovery team.
The evening concluded with a raffle and many Sensational prizes were generously donated by supportive local Businesses and Hair Discovery Professional Clients.
It was wonderful to see the local community come together to celebrate this business and put an amazing effort in to raising funds for Macmillan. We are proud to present Macmillan with a cheque for £4000.00
